Some guy that my friend knows thinks that his Probe GT has a Duratec Engine in it. He also thinks it's the same engine that is in a Contour SVT. I know its not the same engine that's in a SVT Contour and also last time I checked it's the same engine that is in a Mazda MX6. Can someone tell me if I'm right or wrong

It's not the same engine as what is in our Contours. The Probe GT has a Mazda built 2.5L V6.

Some of the early probes used the ford built vulcan v6.
None of the probes ever came with a duratech.

lol Any real poster... good shiznit

For your information the engines aren't the same. The 2.5 v6 used in the probe is a mazda built engine. The engine is also used in the mx6 (basically the cars are the same with different sheetmetal). In fact its common for probe owners to buy mazda parts due to the price difference.

Peace
