Originally posted by BlackPantherSVT: Hey Edorfox, the fix for my application was the new coil-pack, not the wires. I threw on new motorcraft wires for the hell of it. Also, when I tested the old coil-pack it was when the pack was hot - operating hot. Then I measured it as it cooled back down too. Thats how I was able to tell the differences in resistances when it was hot vs cold; like 3000 ohms difference. Just thought I would reitterate that. In any case, I sincerely hope you discover what is the problem Edorfox. Also, if you are not yet finished on your journey, WarMonger, I sincerely wish you good luck on that as well. Ill keep watching this post and help if I can too.
Na, I'm good now! Mine may have been both coil and plug wires, but when I switched just the coil the problem was still there. I just decided to leave the Taurus coil in because the resistance measurements were more consistent. I am running like a champ now! I'm still after more power though, it only seems to feel fast for a about 2 weeks, then I get used to it. Thats when I start looking for more power so I can always feel impressed with the acceleration. I think I need to drive someone's 2.5L so that I can get an idea of how fast the 3L feels again.
Later all, and thanks again. warmonger
