jiako - is there any way you could get a picture of them?
The electrical connector on mine is a rounded-off rectangle with two pins in the middle and two small plastic tabs on one side of the exterior.

If the injectors have those two little slots on one side of the outside, then they are the newer Returnless type injectors...

Here is a pic...the one on the right is the newer returnless 24lb, and the one on the left is the return style 24lb injector.....

Brad,

No OBD scans at WOT. My OBD scanner isn't too sophisticated. It doesn't log any scan data, but I can watch the numbers tick on by.

This stuttering occurs even at part throttle below 3500rpm. The pcm should be able to compensate for less than part throttle settings, but it isn't. This piece of the puzzle is really throwing me off.
It tends to make me think that the engine doesn't know how much air is coming in at all.
I hope that something is different when I plug in the new MAF. I hope it fixes it, but at least if something is different then I can get more information.

How does the SVT 2.5 achieve higher fuel pressure at the rail than the regular 2.5? are they using a different FPR? if so, can those of us with the regular engine, swap that higher rate FPR onto our fuel rail and possibly notice a little better fuel delivery at higher RPM?

Yes, the 99 svt FPR that I have runs 45psi idle and 53-55psi WOT.

It would be an easy bolt up mod for a non-svt motor, and it would give good results.
Ford rates their injectors based upon 39 psi flow rate. So your 17# injectors at 39 psi would act like 20# injectors at 55psi.
WOT at 45psi would make the 17# injectors act like 18# injectors.

That would be a heck of an improvement.

Well,

I just called FordPartsOnline.com and they told me the part number for the FPR on a 1999 Contour SVT is the same as the part number for a standard Duratec engine..... Hmmm.......

I also just called my local Ford Dealer and they said the same thing. Maybe it is the Fuel Rail that is different. Doesnt the Fuel rail come with a new FPR attached to it? Maybe I have to buy a new SVT Fuel rail......

Can anyone confirm the SVTs are running a different FPR than a standard Duratec?

An 'average' 225hp motor needs 1.8 lbs of fuel per min,on stoc 5/16" fuel lines that ok, now up it to needing say 3-4 lbs per min!..I still think your lines are too small....
