Quick question that I hope someone can answer for me. Will the 2.5L valve covers fit the 3L heads???

Anyone know the difference in pans for pre/post 8/16/98? They list them as different. Early 95-98 pans list for as low as $50

Cool. So does this mean that the newer 3.0 will also accept the 2.5 UIM without hassle? I heard something about the 2.5 UIM not being able to clear the 3.0 valve covers without modification.

Any idea why the 2.5 and 3.0 valve covers are different in the first place?

3.0 = Plastic.....

The 3.0L valve covers did not switch to plastic till model year 2000. 2.5L valve covers are still aluminum.

All 2.5L LH valve covers will have an extra section at the back of the head for the Rear Accessory Drive. This was added in model year 2001 to the 3.0L in the Escape, Tribute, and Taurus only, not Lincoln LS.

1996-1999 3.0L and 2.5L share the same RH valve cover.

Does anyone know the part number of the 2001 RH cylinder head??? I'm assuming (hopefully correctly) that the right side head is the cam that drives the water pump.

Left bank (front) drives the WP.
