If i decide to get the 3.0L upgrade how much more power can I get? This may seem crazy, but has anyone thought of fitting a BMW M3 engine in a Contour or any other engine beside the Ztec. I know you have to change all the computers, fuel system and so forth, but that's 250hp or 333hp considering the newer engine. Huh? What do you guys think? I know it's a long shot- I'm only asking because I live an hour from rolled '97 BMW M3 resides. The engine is up for $2400.
Thanks

But David Z has a 3.0L Duratec in his SVT that makes 240 FWHP which is about 290 HP at the crank & several more mods he could do.

After seeing the article in SCC magazine that showed a Hyundai Tiburon with 2 engines and transaxles in it, yes thats right two... Anything is possible. At $2400, I'd buy that engine and slap it into a 318i or 323 bmw. That would be the shiit! The 318 is about the same size as the 'tour and a bit lighter. For the 'tour, I'd stick with the parts that fit, duratech stuff. Plus replacement parts for a Ford are cheap compared to BMW.

Two hundred and forty horses from a 3.0 L. How? What has this guy done to get these gains? With 290 at the crank who needs a blower. This is what I've done to my car (CSVT) so far: -Removed Resonator -I have a Superchip -KNN filter -I'm in the process of altering my secondaries I'm all about naturally aspired engines, not some crazy ass 1.8 cylinder that's pumping 400 hp a 11,000 rpms through a huge turbo. There's something that just doesn't feel safe about an engine like that.

Buncha straps. Although I seriously thought about trying to get my car into the USCCC thingy. I figure all I need is BAT, 17's or 18's, 3.0 and a turbo. I'm not saying I'd win, but I can guarantee that w/ the support of CEG to get me in, my little 'tour would surprise some peoples! Can you imagine competing w/ skylines and supras? Well, I've always had delusions of grandeur.
