3.0L head gaskets vs 2.5L #402581 11/18/01 06:16 AM

OP Sixpipes Junior Member S Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 30 Oak Point, Texas	The 2.5L head gaskets have two holes that are blocked off in the 3.0L gasket. Since I am using the 2.5L head with the 3.0L head gaskets, should I open these locations as in the original 2.5L gasket? What happens if I do? What happens if I don't?

I used the 3.0 head gasket "included" with my SHO Shop block (got it a week after my block only after asking for it) as received. OP Sixpipes Junior Member S Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 30 Oak Point, Texas	Yes, the 3.0L gasket had two areas at top passenger side cylinder that had the thin metal plate, but no drain hole. Just curios why that is. I am assuming I should modify the gasket to match the 2.5L.
