Well obviously you have never done this before as I have because even though that is a good arguement and makes sense, that's not the way it works... trust me. Like I said, I have done this on many OBD-II cars and they have all reacted the same way and over a long period of time, nothing changes. I am not lying about this, I am telling you my personal experience... never tried it on the Contour... that's why I asked the question.
