I'm pretty much in the same boat as nupesvt.
my engine is in pieces all over the floor with th 3L block on the stands and the heads in the shop. They 3L valves are being transplanted into the 2.5L heads so that I have comparable breathing and high compression. The machinist does not see any need for special reinforcement or any work beyond changing the valve seats.
I am planning on ordering a fidanza flywheel before it goes back together, and adding headers later.
