) you set the voltage by twisting the TPS to get .98V with the throttle closed.

which way to you twist. Clockwise or counterclockwise??

You'll see when you get your voltage meter on it... but I'm trying to picture the linkage right now... and if I am picturing it right... you would twist it counter-clockwise.

Thanks,

This sounds interesting and makes sense. I'm just worried about our little friend OBD 2 getting in the way. But that is easily solved by resetting the computer monthly

No, trust me, if you do it right, it won't be a problem. I have done this on OBDII car's before with NO problems what-so-ever. It isn't something that your computer will "learn" to compinsate for... as long as your keep your sensor within range your fine, trust me, you will know if it isn't... and don't panic... just make sure you write down where the voltage was before you started... it's 100% reversable, so no worries. Good luck, tell me how it goes, tell me where you put it, and so on and as soon as I find some free time, I am on it too!

Now for the tricky question. Anyone know the color codes for the + and - wires off of the TB sensor???

Your going to have to make a good guess... if you don't get the right wires... you just won't get the right voltage reading.

The TPS is "fixed position"

You would have to elongate the holes to give it adjustability. There is also little material to work with so if you try it. BE CAREFULL.

I still do not see an up side to this mod.

OBD-II uses whatever voltage it gets from the TPS at full close to indicate such. It varies from car to car already some. So why would changing it affect any settings?

Also as I have stated before. It WILL NOT affect WOT settings.

Basically you will dump more fuel at part throttle (cruising) and kill your gas mileage, but gain no real performance benefits from it.

This is also why OBD-II will eventually tune it out. It monitors both short and long term fuel trim!

OBD-II will not make any adjustments to "tune" this mod out just as any other computer system... I have done this before on OBD-II cars with NO problem and the same exact effects as other cars.

Again, it WILL affect WOT setting to some degree because there are only a few sensors that WOT goes off of for any adjustment, and the TPS is one of them. In WOT, both up-stream and down-stream sensors are completely disregarded as are the EGR system and other emissions system components. Considering WOT begins at a certain percentage of TPS voltage, your car will go into WOT a little bit sooner on the gas pedal depress as well as have a slightly higher voltage when opened all of the way therefore slightly altering the fuel curve table. You are not going to see any difference in gas milage either, you won't kill your milage, trust me, your just improving the throttle response, that's it, but there are a lot of people out there that find it very worth it.

I am not trying to argue here, this is what has been proven before on other cars... like I said, you are not getting 10 more HP or anything, you are getting a MUCH better throttle response throughout the RPMs as well has how much gas you give it and your car will pull sliiiightly harder when you nail it.

This idea sounds interesting. Can anyone else out there shed some light on the matter.

The key thing to remember here is that throttle reponse plays a large factor in how fast people PERCEIVE their car is. You can have 2 identically-powered cars and if 1 is tuned for better tip-in than the other I betcha 9 out of 10 will say that 1 is faster. I'm always looking for better throttle response, so I say LET'S PERSUE THIS!!
