What it does is make the "driving" or partial throttle range (and voltages within that range) much closer to the idle position which increases the responsiveness of the throttle for low/mid range RPM's. It also brings the WOT setting down a little bit so if you aren't matting it, you get more bang for your buck with the throttle you are giving it. I am not saying that if you press the throttle 3/4, your fuel tables go into WOT mode, I'm just saying that it make's the car a little more responsive.
Again, I am not trying to argue here, I just wanted to bring something into perspective that I have not seen on this forum yet. I wasn't the one who thought up the idea 10 years ago or the one who does dyno tests because does it add HP, probably not, but it makes the car feel a little more responsive.
As far as 1-2 tenths in voltage, that can mean a whole world of difference in a great deal of sensors. It is possible that the sensor would go out of range if you went too far, that's why I asked. As far as changing the A/F ratio... there is a range in which WOT registers. Depending on the minor voltage differences within that range, it acts differently, it varies the tables slightly, so if you alter the position of the TPS, you are altering the voltage that the computer reads under full throttle conditions.
Like I said, it was a question, I didn't want to start a war or get knocked down. I just simply said, "has anyone done this?" That?s all I said. I didn't engineer the computer or sensors on the car, but I have a very good understanding of how automobiles work, both mechanically and electronically. With that said, I can't tell you any more than that as far as what it does or what happens, because that is the extent of my knowledge on it, I have done it on MANY mustangs and other cars, and it is noticeably peppier as long as you know where to go with it or you have yourself a good digital voltage meter and stay within reason and keep testing and re-trying it over and over. I am new to Contours as I just bought mine, but I am in no way new to automotive performance. I did searches like everyone says to do and I didn't come up with anything, so I thought I would ask if anyone had tried it.
