Mine came around because of a newer car. I went Christmas shopping in December of `99. I found the coolest Infra-Red Focus sedan. It had both SE packages on it (gave it the spoiler/foggies and the Zetec). It was cool, but too expensive. I hated it. I tried to do everything I could to get rid of it.
Went back to the dealer where I bought it. The dealer asked me what I wanted. I told him that if it was a car, it couldn't be a 2-door. Car or truck, it had to be almost any other color, but green (no offense anyone!
). He told me he had a car that fit what I was looking for. Here was this cool blue colored Contour. I drove it, and was pretty happy. Seemed a little more powerful then the Focus did. Not quite as top heavy either. I left with the car that night, a half hour later, the Focus left with its new owner.
May 22, 2000 was the day I bought it. May 22 was also the day I broke up with my last ex.
