I noticed that on my car a year a go. I thought that it was for a heated windscreen since thats where the switch is located on the Mondeo.
As far as the TC not working I think the switch has to be plugged in. since it isnt there is no completed circuit so it would'nt work. Maybe the bulb is pulled from the socket too. Someone who has pulled/pilling there dash could verify.
Would be nice to have if all we need is the swicth. Has anyone checked the fuses and relays if any for the TC? are they in place or pulled?
I looked in the manual for the TC fuses but there aren't any, probably intergrated into the ABS fuses and relays.
any thoughts?

My 95 has TC and boy does it suck. I hate ABS too, on wet pavement with SVT rims and plenty of tread left on the kdw's ABS kicks in and makes driving (rather stopping) interesting. They need a off switch for ABS like they do for the TC.
The TC is fun sometimes and helpful once awhile in the snow, other than that, you guys can have mine

My 2000 SE also has the wiring. If somebody goes out and gets a switch and it works I would like to do the same.

Just to clarify one point, my SVT did not have the switch, intially, but the TC light and TC itself was fully functional. The switch is only there to disable the TC. You have to turn on the light on the TC switch, by depressing the switch, to disable the TC.

No switch to install yet here in Dallas on Chris_SVT's car. However, can one of you that do have the wiring check to see if you have a light bulb in place? Also, I'm curious as to what other hardware is needed to make the T/C kick in, if anything.
And, those people that do have the wiring, are you sure TC isn't kicking in without you knowing it? Peeling out on wet pavement would prove something.
Worst case scenario, you would need the programming in the PCM to get it to work. Or is there another computer for ABS/TC. I dunno, I have a silly GL without any of that fun stuff!! :p

My car has the wiring but does not light up when I turn on the car. Also, my car likes to spin out whenever it is wet out I guess I'm just always pressing that gas pedal too hard  Sooo, I guess this means that the TC on my car doesn't work. I'm going to try the switch anyway's but if it doesn't work I guess I'll just sell it to someone who wants one for $15 with shipping paid by me.

I'd probably take the switch but I'm in Canada. I'm getting ready to replace my dash bezel with a 98 or newer one but can't find the switch.
