Well, I decided to run my car today with a stock Contour SVT airbox and paper filter. The car has always felt faster with the SVT airbox than it has with any other intake, but I always refused to believe that it made more power, since so many of you SVT guys have KKM's.

2 weeks ago with the 9-inch K&N filter:

16.10 @ 86.93
16.13 @ 86.38

Tonight with the stock SVT airbox and paper filter (it was actually hotter tonight as well).

16.02 @ 86.73
16.01 @ 86.69
16.04 @ 86.54

I'm going to compare the two on the dyno on Saturday. Something tells me the open K&N will still put down slightly more power with the hood open, but definitely NOT on the street or the track, where it counts.

The car is a V6 ATX Cougar with a lot of exhaust work and no secondaries. Full interior.
