FYI: The only mods that car had were a K&N drop-in, no air silencer, and a Bassani x-pipe & catback. There's also another dyno graph floating around of a different 03 Cobra, this one 100% stock, putting down 384rwhp.

hey steve, I went and re-read that guys mods, and I think it was only an x-pipe, no cat-back changes.
It's all about balance.

I guess it had time to cool a little. i told him before we dynoed that I was not sure what the 03 would pull because of the variations reported. I told him I thought the earlier models tested had exhaust and that I was hopeful for 360 rwhp. The dyno is above ground and you are sitting on a lift. After I made the first run I looked down at the dyno owner and he looked puzzled. He asked me,"What kinda number were you lookin for". I was afraid he was going to say 340-350. I couldn't believe it when he said 391. It was a big attraction while it was on the stand. People couldn't believe the numbers and how much I paid for it.
Sounds like at least another 10rwhp is choked up in the catback, then....

At $34K that is one hell of a car. Now if it just weren't so damn ugly... Can't win 'em all. I am still considering trading the old SVT Contour in on one.. Ugly or not.

I think it lookd bad@$$....and with numbers like that it *might* be faster than a z06 in a straight line....but there's no way in hell it can stay with the z06, or even the viper through the twisties...no way...

to be completely honest, my experience w/ the 03 tells me that there is even more than just 10hp locked up in the cat-back.
