Holy hell, you're right! I went back and dug this up:
The only mods are Bassani x-pipe w/cats, K&N air filter and the silencer removed. I couldn't belive how flat the torque curve was and how the power was still increasing till I shutdown at 6400 rpm. Redline is 6500 rpm. If you cool this engine down I belive it would pull 400 rwhp. My first pull was 391 hp. The dyno guy was so startled that he talked to me about 15 minutes before we made the second run. I guess it had time to cool a little. i told him before we dynoed that I was not sure what the 03 would pull because of the variations reported. I told him I thought the earlier models tested had exhaust and that I was hopeful for 360 rwhp. The dyno is above ground and you are sitting on a lift. After I made the first run I looked down at the dyno owner and he looked puzzled. He asked me,"What kinda number were you lookin for". I was afraid he was going to say 340-350. I couldn't believe it when he said 391. It was a big attraction while it was on the stand. People couldn't believe the numbers and how much I paid for it.
Sounds like at least another 10rwhp is choked up in the catback, then....
