Man I didn't nkow what the hec I was doing, I mean i know whens its green u go lol...I got up there and these yellow lights came on so i jsut stop and i looked over at this bright orange truck that i could feel in my car..looked back at the tree and it was counting down...I was like ahhhhhh saw the green and just floored it, didn't even get to launch...I ran a: r/t...1.234 60'...2.511 330...6.899 1/8...12.487 mph...68.97 1000...13.541 1/4...16.122 mph...87.32 I was like okay, now I know whats going on and understand the staging lights... My second run I had a little better launch but could ahve had a much better one. My car kept wanted to roll forward and i would always have to tap the break and i couldn't get a nice rev going on. Anyway the second run happed to be the best out of the four... stats where: r/t000.987 60'...2.490 330...6855 1/8...10.402 mph...69.71 1000...13.432 1/4...16.002 mph...87.61 That is pretty much where I thought i would be with the times...My third and fourth runs didn't go so well, 3rd run I red lighted (car rolled) and the forsth it poped outa first gear(heart stoped, thought i was walking home). Do keep in mind that I have some ****ty ass snow tires on my car and also 200-300 lbs stereo that takes up the whole trunk...I figured that with a good launch, good tirs and no stereo I could shave off a few tenths. Sorry for the long post, usually not like me but oh well...Oh yea the main reason I went was to get a base line so I know how much I gained from the 3l sittin the my garage

Also see - http://www.contour.org/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=47;t=000173 Same night, same track... My best time was worse and I don't have any stereo equipment in the trunk. Guess I should find out what that check engine light is for and fix the wheel bearing for the 5th time (damn positive camber)!

Wanna stop your car from rolling at the light???? Have an MTX??? Here is what you do.
Stage, Put car in gear and hold emer brake (REMEMBER TO HOLD BUTTON DOWN OR BIG PROBLEM), Watch tree begin to count down, Yellow-Bring RPM's up and play a little with clutch till it grabs....Don't sit at light with clutch engaged! GREEN!!!! DON'T DUMP CLUTCH BUT clutch quick at the same time take emer brake off FAST cause your gonna wanna shift.
Just don't do the opposite and forget about your emergency brake
And practice practice practice
This is just an idea, a quick fix....an anti-roll kit is really best if you are gonna really want to do this with your car
Rich
'96 Mystique, Zetec, MTX. ---Mods--- Removed both intake resonators and airbox. Installed APC air filter and APC crankcase ventilation filter. Removed exhaust resonator. Installed XM Satellite Radio. Replaced bad alternator and 175a fusible link...much fun! Intake plenum---GONE!!!! My car growls louder than yours. If I can't buy it, I'll build it...Trust Me!!!!

Rich UMMM if your car rolls on the track I would have to say it's not a flat track... I have NEVER rolled at Route 66 in Joliet IL and I have a MTX.

I didn't have any problem rolling forward. But it could be the wind. Remember there was tailwind the day we went.

No Mods... could be on a track like we have by me that I could run 15's at with my Zetec... track runs down hill half way the levels off... so what's the point of that... and I would like to know how people going to tracks like and with a stock car getting better times than any pro can get with the same type of car and say it's a leget time. just my 2 cents
