I was hesistant to whether i wanted to dyno, but i finally gave in and did it. Second pull was the best with 148.5 hp and 148.6 tq. Not to shabby i guess. Next time I'll use stock wheels and make sure a wheel isnt bent. wink Right after I dynoed my dad and I went and got something to eat where he noticed that no hot air was coming out of the vents. I looked over at the oil temp gauge was just about pegged. We got back to the dyno and the antifreeze was boiling. So it was obvious we blew a waterpump. Luckily, we didnt have any problems finding a tool at the dyno, however we called 6 places and only 1 had a waterpump in stock for my car. We ended up settling to get a plastic impeller but at least it happened at where it did and not on a deserted road somewhere.

Yeah Jim, I am glad we got all that fixed. I am glad your car is running well now. Pretty scary to see you eating a Hamburger with your eyes staring at the motor!!

Yeah we all pitched in and helped Jim, even I was able to help. I fired up the "The Striped Brick" and headed towards Advanced Auto to get the w/p, making (2) illegal turns to get on the freeway along the way, oh well what else could we do :p I second the previous statements about where the w/p cut loose, thank God cool How about his torque #'s, mine was 128 ft/lbs and only 11 more hp than Jims

Yeah, couldn't ask for a better place for that to happen, at a shop with about any tool you'd want, surrounded by gearheads. I even got to help try and put one of those stupid freakin clamps back on and uhhhh, take up space in Rog's "brick".

Not only did it happen around a bunch of gear heads, but Contour specific gear heads as well!!! Glad we had so many cars to look at when putting it back together too, LOL! If it weren't for those stupid Ford spring clamps, it wouldn't have taken long at all for that to get back on there. They frustrated Jim's dad to the point of speaking in incomplete sentances ending with half-spoken curse words, then appologizing to everyone. I think it's funny when dads get that mad... I had to walk away to keep from laughing out loud! laugh I even said "It's the thought that counts" after he stopped in the middle of one of the words... LOL!

And there was a "clean room" to assemble it in. That was a very, very nice shop. Engines ranged from experimental design government tank engines to offshore marine racer engines, circle trackers, street racers... I want a job there now...

Super cool place...but seemed to be in the middle of nowhere!

Actually, it's a flat 6 with twin cranks, runs around 800 horse power, weighs less than an iron small block. Very impressive...
