Phat SVT,
Where are you comming from...'not ment to have boost'..rubbish...the timing was the only issue and FWIW we build up motors weekly that 'light' with the first turn of the key... wink

Certainly didn't expect it to go to total failure on it this soon. Like I say, I can't tell you what anyone there did to prepare for the first dyno run or even if the motor was hurt before he got there. All I know is what "should" have happened. If they truely did try to do a full throttle run without any ignition retard, then some fault spreads on each of us involved for not making sure everyone knew what needed to be done to pull out the timing before the foot went to the floor. I *knew* something was going to need to be done for a full throttle launch, the dyno guy may have thought a chip was already in there, MSD was in/out... what ever... To many variables right now to know for sure what went down at the dyno or on the way there.

All I know for sure right now is that I'm heart broken and so is one of my friends. frown

my condolences go out to Rick and what is left of the beast.

I honestly believe the failure was due to a lack of proper tune (duh) and just a little too much impatience.

Rick, let me know if I can help out in getting things back together.

Dammit rick, i really wanted to see those numbers, i was with u all the way, so sad it ended like that. Well on the bright side, u still have the svt block, so u can always revert bak to that.

Man guys, you got me all misty and weepy with the emotions going on here. It was a sad day indeed. I got home about 10PM our time and hope to have a diagnosis tomorrow once I get the engine pulled (ugh) and pop the head off.

Truth of the matter is the car had been running so well I didn't even think of the timing issue and since the owner of Cerra's wasn't there no one there really thought of it either.

SZ is really up in the air right now. Both for me and the car. I'm assuming the wife will have some input on this whole situation so I'll be waiting to see what that is.

Wish me luck and I pray it's only a head gasket but I'm prepared for it to be 1-3 pistons needing replaced frown

BTW, numbers she put down were 241 HP and 231 Tq at 5700 RPMs before it leaned out on me. That is dynoed in 4th gear.
