A simple thing you can do is get under the dash with the car off and see how much play the accelerator pedal has before it actually starts to feel firm. Insert a rubber washer or 2 behind the pedal on the cable and you'll take the slack off. Maybe something to try before the other suggestions??
We are meaning the throttle plate closes faster when you let off the pedal. Therefore adding or adjusting the return spring is the only way to alter it.
Although I have never had a problem with slack in the throttle cable with the stock TB. (65mm needs those rubber washers though)
That is a good idea for taking up cable slack since the brackets are not adjustable.
