Ok guys, I was cleaning up and packing up all my old stuff last night (I'm moving shortly) and I came across my Dyno results from spring zing last year.

I ran my car (2000 SVT) bone stock except for the K&N drop-in filter, then ran it w/ a (borrowed) KKM and then ran it again w/ the K&N drop-in configured in the "Poor-man's KKM" configuration (either clipped directly to the MAF, or w/ the stock airbox cut down to only a be a retaining ring for the filter base, I'll post pics of that as well)
Anyway, at the time the results were pretty surprising, and led to my choice of filter setup for the last year.

I will scan and post the dyno plot tonight when I get home, just thought I would give you guys a heads up that it is coming.

Very interested, since I am a "poor man" and I want to cut my stock airbox. Big motor needs to breathe more than the stock airbox will allow. If I do it, I'll be using another SVT airbox so I can switch back to the stock configuration when I'm tooling around town on those muggy summer days, and then to "po man" when I want more performance and during the cooler months.

Ok, here we go.
First a couple pics of the "Poor Man's KKM" for those not familiar with it. (FYI, htere are 2 variations of it, one (shown) w/ the stock SVT airbox cut down to a be only a retaining ring for the filter, and the other with the airbox cover removed and the filter held to the MAF by binder clips)
also of note, the filter pictured is from my 94 Cobra, and not the regular SVT Drop-in filter, but the regular SVT Drop-in filter was the one used in the dyno pulls (E-0998)

And now onto what you guys really want to see laugh
(larger res version available here: http://rarasvt.dyndns.org/Contour/DynoLarge.jpg )

I will answer any dyno interpretation questions anyone has, but I think that it is pretty self-explanatory why I chose the "Poor Man's KKM" after this.

Almost 13ft-lbs more torque over stock with "the poor man KKM"? Do you think those numbers are reproducible or just a fluke?

Still on the PEAK HP and PEAK TQ high horse huh?

Go here for just a quick explanation how useful comparing PEAK numbers is... (look at my last post)

Brian,
I do not believe the stock numbers are quite comparable to the other 2 since the car did not have time to cool before that run, so it will show artificially lower than the other 2 (yeah don't get your hopes up on that big of a hp and tq gain over a KKM or other filter mod)

I think these also go a long way to show that my car is no "factory freak" power-wise, lol laugh
