A Mustang is also putting down torque we could only wet dream about (unless your seriously modded its still not the same though) This RWD and weight transfer plays a major role. You want the tires sidewall to flex, insuring a good bite in the pavement (again torque is key) We usually get wheel hop though

All in all, try it yourself, but keep in mind doing one run at Xpsi and one run at Ypsi doesnt give you the corect answer, you would need to do about 5-8 runs each way (driver error) to determine whats best for you.

This is true, and I have done trial and error with the tire pressure and I have found better results for me running lower tire pressure, especially with the way I launch. I guess, like you said that it all depends on the driver.

Also I didn`t try to start anything by my little comment. laugh

Sorry. Just go here and search by tire brand for Nitto Competition tires.

Not sure what happened to the link, it worked right after I posted it.

What tire pressure were they designed to be used at on the track? Nitto says 18-22 psi, which I agree with after using them on my RWD Cobra, my FWD Contour, and my FWD Probe. What were your results when you used them at 18 - 22 psi?

I am just going by what I read on there website, which says to use automobile manufacturers recommended cold inflation spec and what works for me. I can leave at 6000 rpm +/- 200 rpm and dont have a problem hooking my SVT at 32 psi so I don't see any reason to go lower and increase rolling resistance, but if 18-22 psi works for you that is great.

Thanx Simon for finding a cheap place to buy the 555R's!

I'm curious to find out what results I would get in the 1320 with some traction. Although I don't think the new owner of the 3L would like for me to give it a 'final' thrashing down the strip laugh
