9.8metres/second is not terminal velocity. A car falling from the air reaches terminal velocity when the force of air resistance pushing up against the car is equal to the force of gravity pushing the car downward. At this point, the car is no longer accelerating, but falling at a constant speed. The terminal velocity for cars would vary according to weight and the physical position of the car falling downward, but it's usually a very healthy 120-130 miles an hour at top speed, which I'm sure this Supra could take. Jared.

I just saw that car featured in a magazine which I thought was either Super Street or Sport Compact Car. For some reason I cant find it. He said he gets nothing but wheel spin off the line and has to play catch up at the track. It still can run nines though. Not bad for spinning the tires half way down the track. I guess thats what 800 something horse power can do(at the wheels). Pretty cool man.

Terminal velocity of 120-130 is average for humans the velocity of that supra would prolly be 150+.
In a delta a human can hit 210+!!! eek eek
P.S. A delta is a position in skydiving.

The Supras have a bullet proof stock bottom end thta is good for 800HP. Typical Supra TT's with BPU (Basic Performance Upgrade) which is about $740 worth of mods(intake, downpipe, boost controler etc.) dyno around 450HP to the wheels from what I have read. They run 13.6's stock so I won't bother running any unless I get NOS kit on..and even then I will proabably get my a$$ handed to me. THEY ARE FASTTT!!But..for about $25-35,000 used they should be. laugh

the fyunny thing is that racing is hardly ever in a straight line- (well- we will forgiver dragging- as it can be CONSIDERED as racing) thereefore I would love to see him on a track and try to catch the likes of a GT3 or a V8 lotus 7, not gonna happen. well unless its a long easy cornered track, (and im not counting ovals- thats worse than draggin in my book-)
and we wont even talk about how bad that thing would look next to a 427 comp car or MK II.

On the media page of that link, there's a race between the supra and a 306ci s/c 'stang. I'm not saying one would "waste" the other - they're pretty closely matched... However, I call BS on this race.

Looks to me like the 'Stang really had the Supra until it let off. The video cameraman says "gawd damn" like they just smoked him or something??? I mean WTF?

I think the guy in the stang knew that he was being reeled in and thats why he let off.

I went to the links page and found www.turboimports.com. The car there is this same supra. It ran 9.80's at over 150mph so it would take a serious street stang to run top end with this car.
