We're trying to figure that out. Check out this
thread on BSFC . From early brainstorming, it looks as though his injectors are reaching saturation, which could be the reason why the dyno curve goes way down. The loss in power could have resulted from overrich conditions as the fuel injector lost control of pulse due to the duty cycle being too long. If the injectors reached saturation, then they would just dump fuel in the chamber and cause the loss of power. I once read about the same situation on a turbo miata project. They replaced the injectors and fixed the problem.
If they did reach saturation, that could be why the power went down but he didn't experience a lot of detonation (the parts all over the place question you had).
But this is just brainstorming. Between the 5-10 folks that are seriously hooked to the Venom VCN-2000 idea and some valuable CEGer expertise and input, we'll get it figured out.
