Venom....

with all that nitrous, did you experience any detonation while on the dyno? Maybe you can back into whether or not you have the right injector using a few math formulas involving BSFC...(trying to figure out what that number is for the CSVT) Maybe part of the problem was that the timing wasn't retarded up high to compensate for the large amount of nitrous? With that much oxygen, it would seem like you would want to back off the timing to compensate for the increased flame propogation and higher cylinder pressure. Just a thought. Anyone?

Just curious can anyone tell me how much of a "
shot" that comes to and how you aren't frying your lower end and throwing rods all over the place?

We're trying to figure that out. Check out this thread on BSFC . From early brainstorming, it looks as though his injectors are reaching saturation, which could be the reason why the dyno curve goes way down. The loss in power could have resulted from overrich conditions as the fuel injector lost control of pulse due to the duty cycle being too long. If the injectors reached saturation, then they would just dump fuel in the chamber and cause the loss of power. I once read about the same situation on a turbo miata project. They replaced the injectors and fixed the problem.

If they did reach saturation, that could be why the power went down but he didn't experience a lot of detonation (the parts all over the place question you had).

But this is just brainstorming. Between the 5-10 folks that are seriously hooked to the Venom VCN-2000 idea and some valuable CEGer expertise and input, we'll get it figured out.

I called Venom today and talked with Greg the tech there. I plan to ship my valve and control box back to him so they can test it to find out what is wrong. I am not limiting this down to fuel problems, he wants to check and see what the controller and valve are saying to each other while running.

The thing that we are looking at is why it is shooting so much(100hp) at only 20% on the program. It should not be a problem to run something like Mark is doing(49%) which should equal around 100hp.
