Yeah if i'm just driving around really fast by myself, probably like 5-5500RPM. If i'm racing, I take her all the way up to the red, without hitting the cutoff though lol! When I was having my car dynoed, the guy actually hit the fuel shutoff and everyone was looking like WTF was that!? I haven't noticed if you can see it on the dyno plot...

I have a Zetec ATX, and when I'm driving normally, it'll shift at about 3500. But the ATX will go all the way to redline, 6500, to shift when pushed. No chip either!

I have a ATX (I don't like that manual shifting). I don't need to take it to redline because I get my max power and torque at 5600 RPM. My car shifts at 5800-6000 at full throttle anyway. Perfect if you ask me. If I could take it to redline there would be a loss of power because after 5600 my torque and HP fall.

Remind me NOT to buy some of you guys Zetecs okay?!!! All the way to redline...24/7...foot to the floor! Are you crazy?!?!?! The Zetecs powerband isn't like the SVT...we see a steady drop in power after 6,000. Don't get me wrong...I push it close to red sometimes too because it revs so well up there but you start to lose power if you're pushing it too far. It does help keep the RPM's up for the next gear so maybe I'm full of $hit....

I just need more power to get to RPMs going and for it to shift faster.

Honestly the ATX has nothing to do with redlining the car...I can do it...I've done it...but only a few times. It's really kind of pointless because most of the Zetecs start to lose power after 5,500 rpms. According to the Dynos I've seen anyway...I promise, if you shift your car between 5,500 and 6,000 instead of running to red you'll pull faster times. Again, the ATX doesn't make much of a difference when it comes to reving and the redline. My car revs and pulls like crazy(for a Zetec)when I'm in the sweet spot of the powerband. No need to run up outside of that. Regards, Brad Currently the owner of the slowest Zetec of the CEG.
