Anyone know how much overfill room we have before the crank starts aerating the oil?

The oil in a duratec spends sooo much time in the heads that it is already airated by the time it gets to the pan so a quart high isnt going to do diddly on airation- except when cold you might be loosing a few horsies

Strange because I've been running my car on our local road course for over a year as well as Solo 2. I've already calculated over 400miles of full blown Road Course Racing, just ask the sets of tires I've gone thru already they'll agree. laugh

My car runs as strong as ever, in fact better than before, of course with the bunch of new goodies, but it's Mind Boggling to think that the oil is that low even in hard right handers, and my motor hasn't gone yet? confused I assume I should be deemed lucky I guess!!!

I will say I do top off 1/2 a quart more oil.

I think I better Stop talking while I'm ahead of myself, the next meet my motor just might decide to go KABOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!! laugh

Good info,I'm suprised that the heads retain that amount of oil, never seen it even with plexiglas covers,I'd suggest your contact at Roush lowers his head or you could end up costing a friend his job if this takes off..

TH, you think someone will lose a job over this? I'd back him up all the way to court if I can get this in writing. I just don't want Ford to say you're using too much oil...blah blah blah...you're hurting your engine.

el contouro - lmao!

Fwiw, Ford Contracts Roush to do lots and lots of things, so it isn't just so that Ford could cover its arse, should things be bad.

I'm not sure i agree w/ the aeration at the timing chain not being a real factor, but I certainly see the lack of oil in the pan as a real possibilty.

Horse, check your PM.

hmm... What about running an oil feed line from the back cylinder head to the oil pan (similar to the Vortech oil feed)? Oil coming out of the rear cylinder bank is about 80-90psi and it would be a downhill motion... wouldn't that possibly evacuate some oil to the pan at high rpms?

Guys if I am talking out of my butt here then i am really sorry... the coffee machine is broken here at work and i am in some real need of coffee this morning! laugh
