The scarey part is that I was a half a quart high when mine went. Given the small amount the SC contained in lines and the SC itself, I would venture to guess that mine was a bit of a freak failure. I'm going along the same lines as Worldtour here, but at a slightly different angle... crank oil sprayers. They're pretty cheap to do and fairly simple too. That keeps a slightly higher percentage of oil closer to the pan and ready for repump. Anything that can get oil back to the pan a bit quicker will help it sounds like. In our pans, 8 ounces will not give the oil much height to reach the pickup. Throw it around to one side in a corner and it's even less oil near the pickup...
Nothing new to our starvation issues, but it is nice to have a better idea of actually how much oil we may be dealing with here so we can better deal with the problem. With fixs that are known to work, why take the chance of being "lucky"...
