I spent last week hanging around Rockford Michigan with my car in Terry's shop. He installed my Quaife and MSDS headers (stock Y-pipe) so today I made a trip to the dyno to find out the news. The peak numbers aren't that great but below 5200 rpm there is a big difference in the numbers. I really think the stock y-pipe is killing the top end power but I won't know for sure until I change it out. I am going back to dyno again tomorrow to see if the Borla I installed tonight helps out. If someone could tell me how to post the graph I will try and get it scanned so everyone can see how it looks.

I'd say that max power is pretty impressive. I certainly wouldn't complain! Can't wait to see what Borla and a good ypipe does.

The chip will probably help more than Msds y-pipe. I've got MSDS headers,y-pipe,Borla. Plus, KKM and 75mm Maf. My 98 e0 SVT is getting 179.3hp max and 156.7 max tq. I need to get custom chip to tune things up for these mods, but not bad considering I started with less hp than you guys with the later engines.

I went back to dyno again today since I put the Borla on and the power went up a little more today. I think the most impressive thing is that the torque curve is very flat, 150 lbs/ft plus from 4000 all the way to 6250. I will probably put some kind of Y-Pipe and then worry about a chip, but for now I can live with 181.2 hp and 156.2 tq.

Very good numbers but you NEED better breathing. One dyno demonstrated a 5HP gain just removing the plastic cover on the drop in K&N. May want to check the new SHO-Shop intake with K&N filter, adapter, and heat shield for $99. And the Y-pipe should help alot (stock is the worst part of the exhaust IMHO). With a A/F optimization via dyno tuned chip, MAF optimizer, or Apexi-SAFC you should easily crank out 190+FWHP.

I actually do have the filter housing off, the K&N is held on by two small bolts. I have a Y-Pipe on order now so I may head back to the dyno next week if I get the chance. I won't hold my breath hoping to get into the 190's but wouldn't it be nice!
