The struts from the SVT have better valving. You won't notice as much nose-dive, rearing from hard starts and less body-roll. They will fit your car.

But, I thoguht you had a broken spring or are you just going to change both springs and struts at the same time?

Yep. I'm adding SVT struts to my LX as soon as the wifey cashes our tax return. They will go nicely with the eibachs taking up space in the corner of the living room...

Soon, the Toronto Cougar Club president and I will finish clearing out the corner of the room and then it will be off to the dyno!

As long as you use the 98 and newer front struts with 98 and newer front springs you will be fine. There is a slight difference before then so that the parts should not be mixed. The rears are interchangable for all years.

The SVT struts and springs will be slightly softer the the early SE struts and springs. Depending on what you expect from your car, you may or may not like the difference.

You may want to check with your dealer before you do anything though. There is a recall on broken springs. You should check to see if your car is involved.

I will be doing this swap on Saturday provided the weather is cooperating. My 97 GL's suspension is getting a little tired with 100K on it. I'm also swaping the SVT rear swaybar too. So things should be interesting.
