Well about to do this thing and I've seen many different sizes posted - the "how to" states 15/64 for a non-SVT V6 ( which is what I have ) and on a response to a de-moose'n tech someone posted 5/64 ( pretty small IMO ) and other different sizes for the SVT V6. I have plenty of caps and different bit sizes but from exsperience what has been the best result w/o power loss? Any advise would be great! cool

From my experience it's all an experiment with your mods and your climate. To small of a hole in to cold of weather and you will stall. To large of a hole and revs hang with the possability of Mr. Moose calling for a mate. To tell you the truth, I couldn't tell you which size hole I have in my 3 liter right now because I've had so many in there, but it is working just fine.

Must find balance Danial-san... :p

15/64" is good place to start. 5/64" is probably a typo. If the hole is much over 1/4" the plug has less effect and the idle RPMs drop slower/hang longer. A smaller hole usually means a quicker drop, but can effect mid range pull. Performance effects vary, so drill up 2 or 3 different sizes and see which cap works best for you. They can be changed out in about 5 min.

Cool, yah I'll make a few and see the results of each. I really have no intake mods (yet) and live in Georgia climate so I'll begin with the 15/64" and see the out come. ThanXs for the help ! any other suggestions are glady welcome :p

Wait a minute here, has anyone tried making many small ( 4 or 5 ) holes instead of one for a more even air flow? just an idea - will try :p

Great idea! This could keep this thread going for a few weeks!! smile Hmmmm, let's see, should we do 3 small holes and 2 bigger ones or all 5 the same size?? How about a big one in the center with 4 counter sunk little ones around the edges!! Oh, my head hurts, I think I need to have a beer or something....

I've had mine at 15/64" since the end of January with no complaints. No power loss, no stall. I did mine to fix Mr. Moose, and I have not heard from him since. By far the best mod I have done to date(eliminating the embarrassment of pulling up to the drive through window and having the moose sing a song...lol)
