I have a squeek in my rear suspension. It will squeek any time the car moves up and down. Any idea what it is? BTW the squeek goes away when I wash the car through one of the auto carwashes that has under carriage. I am assuming it is a bushing of some sort. Please help me out.

Do you have polyurathane bushings? If so, they need to be greesed annually or the squeak like hell!

The Rear sway bar bushings or the strut top boot bushing. The only other ones back there are in the Control arms.

They are the stock bushings. How hard and expensive are bushings to replace?

Under $10 for the sway bar bushings if you decide to go with PolyUr simple to change, make sure car is even while you undo two bolts and then change out the bushings. I would buy some nice synthetic marine grease at Wal-mart for $2 in the auto section and slather up your bushings to see if that cures your problem.

Hey while we're on the topic i just drove from Chicago to Tenn. to visit my good ole mother and when I'm going around curves it feels like the back end wants to slide over, I have this feel that my cars going to go spinning. I just replaced the tires and it got a little better but still scary around 70-80 miles an hour. Any ideas on the problem. I've driven it down here before and don't remember anything like this,

If you just want squeek to stop. Use some grease that I mentioned. performance upgrade is Poly bushings, they squeek like mad in the cold. Bad in Utah, lots of grease! Bushings can be had from BAT I bleieve or any performance shop will have them. Energy suspension or prothane will have em. Why not pick up a nice used rear SVT bar from someone who upgraded to an Aussie bar. Should cost under $50 shipped and install will be super easy. Better handling and less squeek as you will use stock rubber bushings on the bar.

A rear strut bar solved all my squeaks.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Sway bar bushings! My stock styff squeaked like hell before I bought my Aussie Bar. Now the only sound I have from back there is my strut mounts and when I rip the bar from the car. Originally posted by bk4293: I'm going around curves it feels like the back end wants to slide over Slide like the back end is on ice or like the car wants to tip over? Stick your head under the car and look at the endlinks. Checking the bushings that hold the sway bar to the car might be good too. Though it could always be a loose suspension part (control arm) or your rear end is out of alignment. If you had too much toe when the car loads up one side of the car it would be trying to turn which would make it feel like it was sliding.
