I have a PDF version of the owners manual for the 98, I searched for the word "synthetic" and also read through the part about oil change. I didn't see anything about synthetic. Matter or fact, the only time the word "synthetic" was mentioned was about waxing the car.

Where does it say that? Not that I don't believe you, but I never saw that before and I am going to go out and read the manual to look for it.

Of course, you do know that Ford now recommends 5W-20 for our engines and the Motorcraft 5W-20 is a semi-synthetic? I'll just stick with Mobil 1 5W-30 and K&N Oil Filters, thank you very much.[/b]
