If your looking for front control arm bushings for 95 to 97 contour, and all that use same, mystique, cougar, let me know. I am in the process of designing a full kit to replace your FRONT control arm bushings. Their design will not harm your control arm or subframe, and new hardware will come so you can use the "shortcut" method of removing your control arm for the bushing swap. the more people that show an interst, the faster i can get these things out. Be warned though, they are going to be of a metal design, which means no vibration absorbing proprties. But alot of very low friction movement, and very very tightened steering characteristics, like quicker response and better over all handling and control. Especially if your old bushings are ripped apart like mine. no more pulling under hard accelaration either. Interested? let me know by email at jeffalentz@aol.com Sorry, no price yet, but definetly cheaper than two new control arms(only way to get new bushings) from a dealership(only place to get them) at 143.00 a pop.(and that was a discounted price w/o tax or shipping) More applications will be available as i get the ball rolling on this, so you SVT owners can get on this too

No mean to rain on your parade, but Terry has been developing replacement bushings for the 95-early 98 (horizontal) style arms for a while now. These wouldn't just be bushings, but a rebuilt arm with a new ball joint (worth replacing anyway). BATinc has also released their A-arm replacements, though I'm not sure they are much different from stock.

Good luck in your design and ventures though, I'm sure some may want the bushings, but I still want some vibration absorbed. It does make for a low-cost alternative though. I applaud your efforts.

I have a 95 with the horizontal style bushing which will need replacement eventually. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Hey, me with an update on the bushings. Sorry, still going to be all metal, with all their up and down sides. A new idea I'm working is take an existing ctrl arm, and effectively box the sucker in, with internal bracing to try to stiffen these things up. as well as having a stronger ctrl arm, the bushings will already be installed, but instead of having two seperate pins, this will have one single pin for extra strenght there. and a new balljoint to top it all off ofcourse. the bushings will be greasable, and no modification will have to be made to your subframe, at all. But this one is a little ways off due to the designning that needs to go into it. plus I'm still working on getting just the bushings out. when both these items are up and running, an idea for the future will be a completely new ctrl arm, not a flexible stamp steel design, but a rigid tube type. and it will have the bushings installed with the one peice pin of course. Again, keep in mind these are for the guys willing to feel alittle extra vibration in the wheel, to feel the gains in steering charactaristics these parts provide. Ofcourse I'll let you know how they work, I wil definetly have to try them out on my own car first.

This sounds interesting. I've been in cars with metal bushing before. I liked the ride and well.. I could give a damn about the clunks.. I've got a lot of them as it is.. 1 more shouldn't matter at this point.
