For the cost of buying the parts new you could buy the BAT kit and a sway bar(rear). Also, there was a difference in the spring seat from 97 to 98 so since you'd be upgrading to the later style you'll need new strut mounts IIRC...front only I think.
That BAT kit is an advertised 1" drop not 1.5". However, when installed on my car(BAT sport springs) the drop was definately NOT 1" all around.

You might also consider buying the ST200 struts from BAT...I understand they're valved simliar to the SVT and are relatively inexpensive.
