so i'm not sure if i'm following this correctly or not ...

my connection to the subframe got tore too.
so to fix this i just need to get the backing plates welded to the stock brackets right?
i dont' need another set of brackets do i?

thanks,

I tore my old (stock) brackets to pieces. Any decent shop should be able to weld Aussie's backing plates to the subframe if you have done what I did.

Sorry about the pics, I will get them in the morning. shocked

What I'm wondering is, why no one with a SCA bar (manufactured by ProgressTech) has ever had a problem with there subrframe being ripped apart? Lots of people have had the SCA bar for years as it has been around quite a long time.
The SCA 21mm bar has the same problems as the Aussie bar, but not quite as pronounced due to its intermediate stiffness over the OE bar. I've had the SCA bar for 2+ years now and have battled bent brackets and backing plates all along. I've never let it get as far as actually breaking anything, but I'm sure if I weren't so dilligent about bending these parts back every once and a while, something would break, as seen with the Aussie bars.

The SCA bar does need reinforcement for long term durability.

So if the problem lies in the stock brackets being too small for the larger bushings, how does welding the bar in place help you? or doesn't it? Wouldn't you still need the larger brackets for proper fitment?

The upgraded backing plate is used so you can employ the larger bushing bracket that was sent with your bar originally.

Ok, I forgot to get the pics the other night. I got outside and started tinkering with the truck and spaced it. shocked

After I read this tonite, I went out, pulled the car up on a ramp and got some pics. They aren't the best and the suspension/subframe pieces prohibit me from getting any of the other side of the bracket.

Here is a pic!

Here is another pic! width=

I hope that gives you a better idea on what I have done. laugh
