So on one end you just have the hole where you use the stock bolt. And on the other end you have another hole drilled through w/ another piece of metal(W/ hole in it). They act as a clamp to the stock (Welded in plate).
Is that any clearer...I wish I would have taken pictures of it! Essentially you're pinching the old backing plate. That is not sufficient. YOu SHOULD weld it in!!!
