Hey Guys, I installed my Aussie bar about 6/mo ago. Over time there has been some clunking going over certian bumps and such. I used the Stock Brackets to hold the bar on (Didnt have the welder at the time). Well I got sick of the noise and got under the car and tried to tighten up the bolts (thought it was loose) I snapped the head off of it! So I got the Brackets that came with the Aussie Bar and got them put on. I had the guy weld up some steel next to the stock backing plate (He doubled up some 1/4" thick stuff) The he drilled some bolts into the backing plates and then screwed the new Brackets on. Wow! What a difference. No more clunking or nearly as bad sqeeking. Nice difference. I paid him about $40 to do it.. What a well job he did. I just wanted to let you guys know that it makes a nice difference to use the supplied Brackets as oppossed to the Stock crap.
Thanks,
Joe smile

Joe, good advice. I actually recommended this along with Terry a while back as well. Mine were bent after a few hard auto-x courses. This is part of the reason Terry is working on a complete upgrade kit to go with the aussie bar with improved end links, mounting bracket and the whole nine yards.

Two track days, and LOTS of canyon carving (as SQPlus can attest to) and I'm still running the stock hardware w/no problem. That's not to say that I won't be upgrading the hardware though when the time is right...
