Check this out I wonder if it will fit our cars? Say it would just needs the top bar lengthened. Not sure how easy it would be to alter and if it would make the design weaker than it should be? I would get it but I don't have any room back there, with my sub box. only $99 looks like it would be a hell of alot stiffer than any other solution. Plus it looks sweet!

That was designed for a Cougar. Wait for Hightowers. I can't wait to see another thumb photo.

I don't know what Chris has in the works but unless it's a weld-on mounting it's less than optimal. I've got a weld on rear STB in my car. The reason I did weld-on is from past experience with a bolt-on mount. In little to no time the bolt holes were oval shaped, and that was using a nylock and bolt fastener assembly. Using self-tapping screws is even worse. The metal it's being attached to is a very light gauge. Unless the attachment method is by weld, it will eventually tear out. Check out my bar on our website.

Perhaps it is a new design that will not tear out and does not solely depend on bolts. Maybe I'm testing one right now so a product that does rip out will not hit the market.

Weld-on is cool and all... but I need one that can be removed if I ever need to move something big.

OK. Somebody smarter than me (read, engineer) worked it out that these bars are actually under extension forces under hard cornering, not compression as is commonly believed. If that's the case, the self-tapping screw method seems worthless, and I don't know of any bolt-on method that would really handle the stress.
Trouble is, IIRC welding is prohibited in STS. Hmmm. Frustrating.
