so after leaving vandome thursday night i'm walking towards my car w/ a friend and see people near my car. when i get there, the lady from the club who sells roses was telling some guy "u hit that car, i see u hit that car". he kept denying it and then walked away towards his car, which he had pulled over and gotten out to look at the damage (if u didn't hit my car, why would u stop, park, and get out to look). i got his plates while all my friends got up in his grill to prevent him from driving off. i got the cops who were doing security at the club and they tookover. they went and got the roselady(she had moved on to the strip club) and so i have an eyewitness. i'm glad i didn't see him back into my car, i would've gone apesiht. i missed it by seconds. imagine that. he popped in my driver rear door. i don't know if it can be repaired or will need a new door. since i'm going to be in the body shop, i'm going to paint the front oval and rear strip, along w/ smoothing out some flaws that i had when i bought the car used. i'm so fukcing mad. i'm embarrassed to even drive around. cant wait til this siht is completed. sorry for all the swearing.
...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.

yo I do not blame you, I fell if someone ever hit my car I would get out and beat the **** out of that person. You are lucky you know who did it and you can get your moneys worth out of him, find the place that will charge you the most and go there tfor the repairs. i feel sorry for you and it all really sucks, get it fixed and make it better

I know the feeling. Same thing happened to one of my cars at a party. Fortunately someone saw who did it and I called the cops. Report was made, when it came time to pay up...the guy skipped town and disappeared! It also happened to my mom's new E55 last year. She was at the store and parked in the FAR corner of the parking lot only to come out and see an SUV took off after it totally caved the drivers rear door in. $1200 to fix her car and $500 to fix mine. Its amazing people have the audacity to do things like that and not have the courage to take the blame for their actions

Thats uh.....Thats a bummer dude.
I assume you got a police report, right? The eyewhitness is the key thing. I think you'll be all set. Too bad you weren't in the car or you could walk around saying, "my neck hurts"

hmouta- they salvaged the old one. I *****ed to get a new one but the car was going for sale anyways and my parents didnt want to have to spend even MORE out of pocket since the SUV driver took off. You could still tell if you looked close, but I give credit to the body shop - they did AWESOME with what was left of the door they had to work with.
Did they hit your SVT? If so, I can get the name of the place that fixed mom's car. I know its in Boston but black is a hard color to match and these guys did it perfect, even matched the orange peel with the rest of the car.

yeah the svt was hit. the door isn't trashed so there may be a good chance of repairing it. i know a really good body shop and i also know a friend who's uncle has a body shop. i drive by sat when their were closed to look at the place. 5 bays, looked clean (not like a rinky dink corner place). i'm going to stop in and see if i can tell the quality of work. if i go there, my friend said he'll hook me up, like telling the insurance co i need a new door then fixing the current door and using the extra money for other stuff like painting the front oval and rear strip. i also want to paint the bottom of my front bumper (previous owner scraped the paint off) and the rear bumper has 2 flaws (again previous owner used a glop of touchup paint and it looks like siht). if a new door goes in, the shop can switch windows right? i dont want to pay $50 to retint it.
what would a new door cost? does ford even produce them?
yes i get the police report this friday.

oh yeah, the internals of a damaged door can be removed and the internals of a replacement door can be swapped in, but the cost for labor for doing this would be way more than the cost to re-tint the window of a replacement door.

On Monday coming home from work some dude decides to back up in the middle of an intersetion and hit my driver side rear door also. It looks like ****. Everytime I drive it, I can see the damage in the side mirror. The guy had no license, no insurance, and no registration. (I live in new haven so i kinda expected this) Anyway the door is all smashed in, but the car body is fine, the window operates fine and everything else seems ok. I took it to a nice body shop and I'm getting a whole new door and even getting a rim on my passanger side replaced (it got scratched along time ago). It sucks and I hate it and I wish it never happened. I think its time to get rid of the contour and get something else.
