The Neon you're thinking about is the Neon SXT. It comes from the new 'internal-tuner' division withing Daimle-Chrysler, now called 'PVO' ie: Performance Vehicle Operations. PVO is Daimler-Chrysler's take on Ford's SVT, and even, to some extent, BMW's M division (though none of us can really be expected to believe they can compete with BMW!). Though it sounds promising, 'SXT' is really Dodge-speak for 'Value'. The Neon SXT is really just a neon with some new wheels, cladding and badges. The whole drivetrain is exactly the same as the standard-issue, boring neon, and it does a much better job towing grandmas around as a rental car than it will EVER do at beating my 'tour. And minivan heads??????!!!! Sure.....Anyone ever hear of the Fish carburator?
I guess when you're stuck with a neon, you gotta try anything.
Remember kids, there's no replacement for displacement!!!
