Yes. They hand picked "the best of the batch" cranks for the SVT engines.

I don't know if they NDI'd the cranks to do such, but surely the best balanced, truest, & journal finish came into play... (other factors too???)

Pretty common practice actually, but for different reasons. Usually for testing sample choices. Take a lot of parts, all within specifications, then choose the ones whose parameters fall closest to the center (or optium if the spec isn't centerlined) of the specification. Submit those for testing and guaranteed to get a glowing report. Or in this case, put them in the more powerful motor for better chance of long term reliability.

There is a lot to be said for sample selection. A whole school of QC on making sure it is a good random sample. And a whole school of manufacturing trying to sneak around that.
