I have, however, owned my silver SVT contour since 98. Bought it at Billy Howell ford with 12 miles on it. I've got about 84k on it right now (I know, alot of miles) but the car is running great - when it cranks that is!!
Actually it's not that bad. It's happened 3 times in 84k miles but twice it left me stranded and I had to have it towed.
The car will turn over but will not start. The first time, it was towed to Perimeter and when the tech went to pull it into the bay, it started.
Second time, basically same story. They kept it for 2 days and couldn't find the problem. Third time, in the driveway at home (thankfully) would not start. My wife goes out 5 hours later and it starts. I've got way too much sh** going on to have transportation that's not reliable. Any ideas let me know.
Otherwise I love my car. My gas mileage went up drastically after 60k miles and I'm getting about 26.6 mpg right now. Going to throw new tires on in about a week so any suggestions would be welcome. Thinking about S3 poles.
I've had other problems but this post is way too long. More to come.
Welcome.
Your no start problem sounds like it's the crank position sensor. I've seen this happen to other tour owners with the same results from the shop. I've had the same starting problems with my car twice and both times the car started right up after jiggling the sensor switch. I'll see if I can find some related posts for you.
