Nice ride, I prefer the newer body style though. Dude, you can't go wrong with the miata though. If you can budget 4500 for the FM turbo kit (includes everything including the link programable ecu) you will be able to put down over 200hp with stock internals. The gen 1 miata's (90-93) weigh in bellow 2500 lbs, so you can do the math on that. All i can say is drive a turbo miata or ride in one before you decide on the vet. The tour is going to stay my daily driver. The next "project car" will either be a turbo miata or an rx-7 turbo. I haven't said this before out of respect for the tour, but both the rx and mx just feel right (yeah i know it's there slogan) when you get in and sit down. Seat placement, pedal location, shifter location, gauge layout, etc etc. Ford could lear A LOT from mazda in the ergonomics department. I still can't heel toe right in the tour cause the damn pedals are a mile appart (hence the reason i ordered the sparco bolt on pedal covers) and the damn console has left a permanent indention in my right calf Check out www.flyinmiata.com they are the makers of the FM kits.

I'm just thinking about it. After reading some folk's recent experiences with the vemom kit, I've got cold feet about the nitrous...if Venom SVT had driven his for about another 5 or 10 seconds in the juice, he would have had catastrophic failure....for the $2k the project costs, I could have enough down payment to break even on my trade...hmmmm....maybe I should just put the money in the bank, get a smaller nitrous system (zex comes to mind) and enjoy it until I get a few more bucks and go all out with a sports car, like a mid 90s vette or rx 7 or s2k or try and find another cherry 71 chevelle SS. hmmm.....I'm scared of that venom kit if it can't be any more reliable than what VenomSVT has been through. Still moving forward with my project, mind you, but don't know if its worth the pricetag for the VCN-2000...zex may be in my future.

Werd, RX's are great man and you can pick one up with a fresh dealer installed motor and turbos for around 15K right now, or better yet buy one with a toasted motor and buy a preped crate motor with 2mm apex seals and some light porting. Only problem is that rotaries are VERY picky about engine management and overheating. I've had 3 of them, including my 2nd gen turbo. I can hook you up with the right people if you go that route. Don't get me wrong now, I'm still planning to do one myself and the weak points can be addressed. The dude that use to work on all of mine (charlie the owner of mazcare out in mayretta) has a fat 2nd gen turbo, i think last time he dynoed he was putting down over 300hp. Save up for a 7 or a miata man, then we can build out together! PS, I know i don't need it yet and may never with this car (though i have no desire to chip so it may be usefull), but i ordered an APEXi SAFC the other day after looking at the install guide from the howto section.

Hey guys.
I know that I have only posted the bad parts that I have had with the Venom system. I don't want to make you think it's a bad system cause it really isn't. I admit I am having some problems with it, but everything takes work. I am not going to point fingers at who is to blame because I have not found the root of the problems, weather it be a bad controller or something that I did. 99SVTguy I will defiantly keep you informed on everything that I find out.
I would like to say that Venom has excellent customer service and I have nothing but good thing to say about there help so far. I would like to see Vortech come even close to it. It was such a blast to drive the first couple of weeks that I had it in. The only problem that I had was other drives getting pissed at me for kicking there A$$. My favorite was a new Firebird Formula (305 HP), we ran 3 times from a roll. From 60, 70, and 80 I had him by at least 2 car lengths every time. I will let you know how everything turns out.
