I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it.

i think it's "muhr-see-ay-lah-go"

the "e" has an accent over it. and a single "c" in italian is pronounced "ss"

all of the other vowels are short.

I like the Contour name; think "Continental" and "Touring". Of course I hated the name before I actually drove my Tour.

The worst: Stratus. The first time I noticed the name I thought it said STARTUS.

Hmm.. a lame name?... Achieva? Accent? Prelude? Civic? Fairmont and Fairlane, there were both... Escort's kind of dorky... Aspen (dodge) seems like it'd be a yuppie car...

Forget about the cars....just think about some of the companies......

Daewoo??
Daihaitsu??
Hyundai???
Subaru???

I just can't drive anything from any of these companies....NOT EVEN A WRX!!!

If you want to see some really bad car names...check out the Japanese prototypes....they are a trip. There was an article in Car and Driver about this exact same subject....if I can find it...I'll scan it........

the new Lambo is muth-e-ah-lay-go. Means something along the lines of fast horse, I think, something kinda cool.
It was one the website for awhile, but I can't find it now. The pronunciation, I mean.
Oy Vey  . Murcielago is pronounced:

Mur-see-el-lago.

It is Spanish for bat. Just a generic bat - nothing special. Lamborghini has always had a penchant for using Spanish words and names associated with bull fighting to designate their models.

As far as dumb names are concerned:

1. AMC Gremlin - The term gremlin was used by engineers of all stripes to describe mechanical failures resulting from no known causes. Come to think of it, the AMC Gremlin was a gremlin in and of itself. Maybe the designation was accurate after all.

2. Chevy Nova - When GM decided to market this car in Latin America during the 1970's, they obviously never did their homework. The name NOVA was interpretated by the buying public as "No va" meaning that it doesn't run. Would you buy a car model called "It doesn't run"?
