Me too. It was hell when I was in TX and saw the sign for Dallas - 581 miles
That state is too big for its own good.
My laptop and a few crucial DVDs kept me going, though: U-571, Contact, Big Daddy, Rush Hour and a couple others.
For the worry-worts, I had the laptop in the passenger floorboard and only glanced. I mainly needed the audio to help me stay conscious.
