yes the contour has a great ride. my car has almost exclusively highway miles on it and it is incredibly smooth. even at speed it's almost deceiving how fast it's going because of how smooth it is. I love my SVT and couldn't imagine getting rid of it until the new EVO's come out in January-ish. Then I could imagine it.  Good choice on the tour.
