When I was in high school, I used to be the only conservative minded student in the whole government class. We are talking 1988, end of the Reagan era when it was 'en vogue' to put down pepsi cola and republicans were considered Warmongering, anti-socialist, greedy, evil, etc.
I always believed in strong military might, strong defensive plans (i.e. SDI "star wars") and the like, though I don't hope or look for war.
Anyway, I was the only confirmed right-wing teenager in my class. I was also into the old style computer bulletin board services (BBS) where we had 300bps modems and had to dial up to some local computer. It worked the same as the forums do now.
I just picked up the nick-name because all my friends (and 'not-friends') knew me and knew the story. Consequently I've been using it since I was 16 or 17 years old.
And that is that.
As to me and my values. Well I still feel about the same way. Only now, things are different.
Now after those azzhole terrorist bomb our country, those same f'in people who were whining about spending money on defense and the military are whining about why we were unprepared.
So many people think that this tragedy brought out the best in Americans.
I prefer to think that it did for a select few. For the rest, this tragedy only emphasizes how pathetic they really are as they drive around with 20 american flags pasted to their cars, trying to convince people of their patriotism.
I suppose that is enough on that.
