Okay everyone. I have spoken with the wife and she doesn't have a problem with us meeting at my place. To quote her: "As long as we aren't paying for everything", which is understandable.

So, being that I've never even been to a meet before, let alone organized one, we need to figure out what we need.

1) Location - got it covered

2) Grill - got one (not huge, but neither is the group)

3) 'tours - check

4) Parking - I'm sure we can manage

5) Food - well, can't really do that until the big day, but if we all pitch in a thing or two, I'm sure we'll be okay

6) Drink - again, everyone should pitch in

7) Directions - I'll take care of that later

8) Cruising roads - again, I'll see what I can do. I'm new here, so if anyone else has any ideas, lemme know!

If you think of anything I missed or disagree with anything, post so we can work out the kinks.

Later...

DDavis- thank you for being the meeting place for this. that's very generous of you. ok, so far the 14th is a good day. no complaints yet. I'll bring as much food and as much 'beverage' as is necessary.
As far as roads, out by you most of the roads are pretty smooth and flat, no twisties that I can think of. However, 303 is pretty damn straight and deserted. or we could take bell until it turns into the Sun Valley Prkwy. That's a long smooth road too. Or, it's into town to kill some Honda's! Very cool. I'm excited, let's do this. laugh

I just thought of something else that would be cool...a digital camera. I don't have one, but if any of you do, we could get some really good shots out here with our desert landscapes...

Okay, fellas. Myself and Keyser have both offered up our places. The question is, which will we use? We should decide on this so maps and such can be generated. I think I had prematurely assumed my place and don't want to appear I'm trying to Hitler-ize this thing.

Also, the AZ guys that haven't responded, let us know what's going on.

My son and I were out scouting the area July 4 and found that if you go about 5 miles W of my house on Bell, it turns into nothing. There's even a sign that says "Next services 38 miles". It's still 2 lanes each direction and looks to be one Helluva running strip. Almost no traffic, also.

Take it away Davis if you want. I don't think that dictatorship entered into anyones mind. If you have an open strip then that might be better. My area is very residential. Just didn't want you to feel that you had too. Did anyone tell Martin2 about our branch forum yet?

I dropped him an email, but haven't received a response. I'm hoping he got it. I also put another topic in the General forum to redirect Arizonians this way.

Hey, you guys are cookin! We have a family birthday the 13th, do not know yet when we will celebrate (13 or 14th). But depending on the time of day/eve you meet, might be able to run over there. Darrell, what are your major cross streets? Since you will be going out to the Bell Road SVT Raceway (how's that for a new name), you might include a cellular phone number with directions to your house).

Major cross streets: Dysart and Greenway (not exactly major laugh ) I'll try to find a map I can post with explicit directions. Mapquest messes it up and puts my address out near 180th Ave when I'm closer to 130th. Sheesh...

Could we get an email address for everyone for sending phone #s, etc.
