Ok, before this clown goes and erases all of the evidence, here is the thread upto the point where I stepped in.

tbunder Member posted January 23, 2001 12:41 PM performance minded im talkin, not looks. Ok, I can understand he wants performance mods, so he provides clarificationbaco99 Moderator posted January 23, 2001 01:02 PM uh..i don't think there is much unless you have the tools to remove the exhaust resonator yourself and happen to have some 1-3/4" straight pipe lying around. gutting the cat is always free. forcing air into the intake is also free if you have the right tubing and harware. can't think of much else. Does anyone else see where jpwesson in the following post is selling anything? jpwesson Junior Member posted January 24, 2001 10:42 AM 57.5 mm Throttle body, machined and polished. Flows +18% more air. If anyone is interested send me a note at: wessonjp@utrc.utc.com and I will send images and a powerpoint drawing showing dimensions. JPW Uh oh, here it comes tbunder Member posted January 24, 2001 03:41 PM hey doorknob, this is for free, homemade mods! go advertise your junk somewhere else. thk you.
perry Moderator posted January 24, 2001 05:20 PM He ain't advertising! Looks like he is offering drawings of how you can mod your TB yourself.. for free! More of the same tbunder Member posted January 24, 2001 06:43 PM how many people have machining tools lying around in their garages? im talking about bolt on do it yourself performance. that would definitely not be free for the average person.
jpwesson2 Junior Member posted January 24, 2001 11:48 PM 'doorknob' ?? Nice talk, Thunder, don't bother reading on, the rest of the message is for the mechanically competant. I guess this excludes you. The machining was done in a friends basement machine shop using an antique Bridgeport and a lot of old-time skill. I wanted to see how difficult it would be to make the prototype and prove the concept. Some of the work was done by hand (throttle shaft slot grinding & polishing of the inside of the throttle body) This is the type of job a local shop could do. I have about 6 or so friends that have basic shops where this could be made. If you want to just do a straight bore the project would be even easier. Anyway, as Perry said, if anyone is interested I have Powerpoint drawings, photos and a description how to machine a throttle plate at the correct angle (7.8 deg) to give the proper ocal shape and beveled edges. Leave me an eMail message

tbunder Member posted January 25, 2001 01:17 AM dude, the key words in the orignal thread were "easiest homemade", not unbolt the whole intake, take it to a friends house, polish it on some antique machine along with your hands. yeah, duh, anyone can polish their intake and make it breathe better for more power, but the question was for easy homemade mods. not go to great lengths for better breathability mods.
tboner Member posted January 25, 2001 12:17 PM Hey, TBunder, don't be such a tool. You used a relative term such as easy. Easy for RubY meant painting his taillights. Easy for jpwesson was a little machine work. What is easy for one is probably nuclear physics for another. Just smile and say cool, you can do stuff like that, I'd like to, but it's probably out of my league. Or sumptin like that. Try some decaf today! TBWell, I guess we can see who went off the deep end first.
Some people! They ask for free advice, and then ***** and moan because it doesn't conform to their tastes. They start name calling, but are offended when others use the same tactic on them.
tbunder, my e-mail address has been clearly posted, so if you REALLY wanted to take this off line, then why hasn't my inbox been visited with your prose?
