Well, awhile back I talked with Tom Lavende (former SVE manager for SVT Tour project) Nice guy, had a long chat - I was trying to find out about any change in oilpans between years (there were none 98-00). I asked him specifically about the motor changes changes between 99 & 00. (There was a post about different cams & forged pistons for 2000 & I was wondering if hotter cams might be available). Tom said, no- "the only change was the reduced displacement and they bumped the compression a little." He said the reason the car "held" HP is because they "got better at tweaking the EEC-V each year". Did'nt specifically say no increase, he said held HP. But I'll say this - from what Ive seen, the 2000s seem to dyno about the same as earlier years. In fact, IMHO, Ive seen enough overlap in stock dynos that I cant honastly say that I have a strong feeling that 99s are stronger than 98s or 00s are stronger than 99s. Which is to say the range of dyno variation or error exceeds any incremental gain each year.

Its OK with me if you believe you have 205 or 210 HP, maybe you do (I wasnt even going to post this). But its probably motor to motor variation.
